Batinah
reaches inland to the main towns of Nakhl and Rustaq, both of
which boast majestic historical forts. The region has many streams
cascading down mountains to the coastal plain. Fertile soil
nourishes small farms growing fruit and vegetables.
Small villages with hot water springs nearby, and an abundance
of ancient
forts and watchtowers are dotted across the region. The sea
views are glorious, with many fishing boats on the blue-green
crystal clear water.
The Batinah region is famous for its camels, and camel racing
is popular.

courts. snorkelling, jet skiing, sailing and fishing opportunities
are available.
Twenty minutes by boat from Al Sawadi are the Daymaniyats and
A'Sawadi Islands. The Daymaniyat Islands, recently declared
