The beaches surrounding the settlements of Ras Al Hadd and Ras Al Junaiz are famous for the thousands of green turtles that come ashore to nest here every year. The region is rich in marine life and the surrounding mudflats attract an impressive range of indigenous and migratory birds.


At Al Naseem Camp - Turtle Beach, Ras Al Junaiz

Facilities:
Our permanent camp Al Naseem is located only 4 minutes drive from Ras Al Junaiz nature reserve. The fenced-in and guarded camp offers comfortable sleeping facilities in spacious A-framed cabins enclosed with palm fronds to ward off nature's elements. Each cabin is fitted out with electric lighting, two single beds with mattresses and bedding.

For our guests' added comfort we have fixed amenities including showers, hand basins and flush toilets. The spacious Arabian style entertainment area, covered with palm fronds is an introduction to true Omani hospitality where you can dine in comfort and lounge on oriental carpets and cushions. The campfire area with tables, chairs, oriental carpets and cushion is a delight.

Activities:
From Al Naseem Camp you have entrance to the facilities on the beach within the Reserve to watch the green turtles coming ashore at night to nest. In the morning observe the newly hatched baby turtles racing towards the ocean.

Enjoy the coastal region with its endless beaches or undertake excursions during the day and visit some of the many local places of interest.

Surrounding area:
Ras Al Hadd, with its sandy beaches and lagoons, is only 17km from the camp. The ancient seafaring town of Sur is an hour's drive away. Near Qalhat is Bibi Mariam's Tomb. Wadi Shab, near Tiwi, is an explorer's paradise. Venture along the coast to the fishing villages of Asylan and Al Ashkarah. Inland lie the historical towns of Ja'alan Bani Bu Ali & Hassan, on the edge of the Wahibah Sands, from where you can reach our camp at Al Areesh.
